Murcotts first developed a fuel efficient training program for local government more than fifteen years ago. Since then concerns about vehicle use and the impact on climate change and the environment, has prompted a wider interest in EcoDriving and low emission vehicles (LEV). Research has established that the driver behaviours common to both EcoDriving and Safe Driving deliver lower crash rates while reducing harmful vehicle emissions. Murcotts' EcoDriving is now an integral component of its range of Defensive Driving and Education programs. Given that EcoDriving can deliver up to a 27% reduction in fuel consumption, EcoDrivers who choose a low emission vehicle will reduce even further, their vehicle's carbon footprint. It follows that the mindset that underpins EcoDriving and Safe Driving, also aligns with low emission vehicle ownership. Murcotts welcomes the GreenZone Drive as an important environmental and safety event. LEV = economy + safety + efficiency
